Maxwell graduated from Hartford with a BA in English with a focus in creative writing in 2011. He served as an editor and secretary for Aerie, University of Hartford's literary magazine from 2007 to 2011. He was President of the Eta Upsilon Chapter of AEPi from 2009 to 2010, and on the executive board of Hartford's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society (2010-2011).
At the University of South Carolina between 2011 and 2013, he worked The Daily Gamecock as a Copy Editor and moved up to Copy Desk Chief.
He completed his MA (2014) and MFA (2015) at Wilkes University with a focus in fiction and publishing. It was at Wilkes that Maxwell completed his creative thesis, a novel called Dinah, Won't You Blow?
Maxwell is the owner and Editor-In-Chief of Door Is A Jar literary magazine. DIAJ looks for poetry, flash fiction/ nonfiction, drama and artwork that connects with the everyday reader. Check out the latest issue and be sure to submit:
He is a member of the Horror Writer's Association and an associate member of the Jewish Art Salon.
His is a contributor to Chicken Soup for the Soul, and he has several books scheduled to be released in 2021.
